With new vapes coming to market, there are lots of options for your vaping needs. In the battle between the DaVinci IQ and Arizer Solo 2, who will win?
More and more players are joining the vape game. But there is a legacy dispute that remains… In the battle between the DaVinci IQ and the Arizer Solo 2, who wins?
It is needless to say that there are, nowadays, an infinity of vaporizers you can choose from, and manufacturers are increasingly getting better at producing precisely the kind of vape that feeds your needs, whichever they may be.
Today we’ll go over the most common traits vape users look for in their devices, like quality, size, and usability, but from the perspective of our two stars of the day: the DaVinci IQ and the Arizer Solo 2.
One of the most intelligent vaporizers to come to market to date, the DaVinci IQ is made with convenience in mind. Herb loads into the chamber from the bottom, which features a funnel design to prevent spilling during the process.
This vaporizer is a beast! The Arizer Solo 2 features a unique loading setup combined with two sizes of all-glass air paths. Users load the base of the durable borosilicate glass tube and then insert it into the inverted vaporizer.
The chamber lid features a unique “black pearl” made of high-quality ceramic zirconium for even heating and pure flavor in the DaVinci IQ. The pearl, when the lid closes, packs the chamber for increased flavor and a secure seal. It also features a 51 LED dot display.
Flipping the unit upright, users can open the top to find an exceptional bonus. Inside the air, path resides a removable black zirconium chamber for infusing herbs. If desired, pack lightly with herb, and as the IQ gets used, it will imbue the contents with vapor from the herb in the oven over time.
Great for that special smoke session surprise. The DaVinci IQ comes in four color options: Stealth (black), Copper, Gunmetal (Grey), and Blue.
The Solo 2, instead, only comes in Black or Blue. The most remarkable feature I see in this device is no mess on the unit, and reloading and cleaning take seconds. Because the herb goes into the glass, it never touches the oven walls, ensuring fantastic flavor.
The Arizer Solo 2 vaporizer’s heating element is heat-resistant ceramic, and the air path is made with Borosilicate glass. The device has a temperature range of 122 to 428ºF, fully adjustable.
Another important feature that I would like to add to this section is the devices’ warranty. The Arizer Solo 2 has a two-year warranty, while the DaVinci IQ is a ten-year-long one, which is pretty special.
The DaVinci IQ vape temperature oscillates between 250-430ºF, so it has a bit of a narrower range of temperatures you can choose from. Precision heating control is necessary for a quality vaping experience, and DaVinci doesn’t disappoint, boasting three different integrated functions.
Regarding accessibility and usability of the devices, DaVinci IQ’s Smart Path mode allows the user to pre-select four temperatures, and the unit chooses the perfect temperature for an ideal vape. A smartphone app connects via Bluetooth to give total control! It even sports a Boost setting for an extra burst of vapor when desired.
The Arizer Solo 2 upgraded to a full LCD screen for full info display, including temp settings, activation, battery level, and current temp. Fully adjustable in either 10º or 1º increments without an app, it offers total control. Users can adjust the screen brightness, temp units (ºF or ºC), and max heating time. It also has an interesting customizable shutoff and startup timer!
The DaVinci IQ vaporizer has a 3-hour battery life, powered by an easily interchangeable 18650 battery. The Arizer Solo 2 battery also gives power for up to 20 full vaping sessions, or about 3 hours, before recharging. An important note to bear in mind is that the unit only charges with its charger, not a standard USB. However, it allows use through charging, even with a flat battery level.
In the Arizer Solo 2 case, the air jet inflow and wide glass tube ensure effortless hits and massive vapor. For the DaVinci IQ, I appreciate how, at low temperatures, it produces a modest vapor cloud that will carry the scent and even taste of the herbs you put in it without it feeling like smoke.
And speaking of temperature, the Solo 2 takes 30 seconds to heat up when set to the lowest temperature setting. In comparison, the IQ only takes 16 seconds for the same temperature.
Drum roll… but obvious answer. It depends on what you’re after. The crowd goes, “boo!”. But seriously, though, it wouldn’t be fair to tell you one’s better than the other if you’re not focused on the same details I am. However, I’ll let you know which one I like best and why and decide who wins for yourself after.
Although the Arizer Solo 2 beats its predecessor hands down and offers incredible display and custom settings, the DaVinci IQ wins this battle if you ask me. The reason is that, to me, size matters. This is a smaller device, but with a battery as powerful as the Arizer Solo 2 from a single cell!
Additionally, I’m somewhat impatient, so the fact that it heats faster really does it for me. Another feature necessary for me is the extended warranty, but being unlucky with either of these two devices is probably not a common scenario…
Now, the Solo 2 is, to begin with, cheaper. That is already a valid point if you’re looking to get a good product for a more accessible price. In addition, it is super easy to clean, which I consider a HUGE plus because the material doesn’t touch the heater.
Oh, and speaking of that, the sleek design and how the thing works is super attractive in this device, so I can see how it would be more of a treat for those vape nerds out there. And that’s the ambiguous verdict; I hope it did not disappoint and that it helped you decide who you’re taking home with you after a few clicks.
