Tired of doing all the lung work? Need A Saturday Night Activity? Then why not try making this sweet waterfall bong.
If you are tired of doing all the lung work, why not make a Waterfall Bong? It’s easy, quick, and best of all provides thick, milky smoke in abundance!
A variation of a gravity bong, rather than having to lift the chamber out of the water, you drain the water out of the chamber. This makes for a more stable bong (no open bottom) with less danger of tipping over when you set it down. Making one is as easy as 1,2,3!
All you will need are:
Lay your bottle down and keep the air pressure in with a closed cap. You can pierce the side by boring in with a heated pick or another sharp object. A heated tool does most of the work for you, which is safer. You don’t want to push hard and have the point slip to the side, causing you a potential injury.
Once the hole is made, smooth it out, and cover with the tape. The larger the hole, the faster the draw.
If you have the right size stem, then a seal is no problem. If it is too narrow to seal to the bottle opening, you can:
Fill your bottle within a few inches of the top, and load that bowl. Then just light it, pull off the tape on the bottom hole, and watch it fill up! When it is empty of water and full of smoke, take off the bowl and enjoy! Don’t forget to have a container for the water to flow into, you don’t want a mess!
If you’re using a plastic bottle, making a cap for your waterfall bong is easy and can be done with common household objects. Here’s what you’ll need:
After you’ve collected these odds and ends, it’s time to make yourself a simple bowl. Here’s how to make a bowl for a waterfall bong in four easy steps:
To make the perfect bowl for your waterfall bong, you will be cutting a hole in a plastic bottle cap. To do this successfully, you will need to heat a small, sharp screwdriver or another metal device with your lighter. Then, use this heated tool to pierce through the center of the bottle cap, creating a small hole.
Once you’ve pierced through your bottle cap, you will need to widen the hole to ensure that the cap fits smoothly around the narrow end of your socket. Use your knife to carve away a larger hole. However, make sure that you do not make the hole too wide. The plastic bottle cap needs to fit securely and snugly around your socket.
Once you’ve carefully carved out a sizable hole in the plastic bottle cap, use the lighter to gently soften the plastic around the hole. Once the plastic is melted slightly and still warm, secure the plastic cap over the socket by sliding the cap over the tapered end of the object. This socket will become your metal bowl.
The heated plastic cap should create an air-tight seal around your socket. Before using your new waterfall bong cap, allow the cap to cool before use. To use your new piece, simply crew the cap onto your waterfall bong and you’re good to go!
Tin foil is something that almost everyone has around the house. While some of the best-tasting waterfall bong hits come from glass bowls, tin foil is an excellent alternative in a pinch. Ready in mere seconds, here’s how you make a waterfall bong with tin foil:
Make your homemade bong following the steps listed above. Only, instead of attaching your glass bowl or using a plastic cap, tear off a piece of tin foil that is at least six inches wide.
Once you tear off your piece of tin foil, trim it to be about six inches wide and eight inches long. Then, fold the piece of tin foil in half to create a double layer. Next, use your thumb as a mold and fit the tinfoil around the first half of your thumb to create a gentle indentation. This indentation should fit tautly inside the opening of your waterfall bong bottle.
Place the intended tin foil inside the bottle opening and fold the edges of the tin foil over the mouth of the bottle to create a snug fit. You can twist or trim away excess foil to make a cleaner and better fitting bowl as needed.
When the foil is taut over the opening of the bottle, use a toothpick, pencil, or the tip of a knife to poke a few small holes into the tin foil. When you’re ready, place your ground flower atop the tinfoil bowl and heat with a lighter. Smoke should travel through the holes in the tinfoil and fill the cavity of your new waterfall pipe.
If tinfoil and hardware parts aren’t quite right, you can always fit a traditional glass bowl onto your makeshift water pipe. If you’re a regular consumer, chances are you have a glass bong or two laying around. Now, here’s what you do with it:
Just like you would with a socket, pierce a hole in a plastic bottle cap with a sharp object and carve out a larger hole with a knife.
The hole you carve should be just the perfect size to fit snugly around the stem of your small glass bowl. If it is too big, you risk smoke leaving your waterfall bong before you get a chance to enjoy it!
Before sliding the cap onto the bottom of your glass bowl, heat the plastic with a lighter to soften the cap and ensure a snug fit. Ideally, the malleable plastic will adhere around the stem of your bowl. Once you’ve outfitted your cap, let the contraption cool and then screw it on to your waterfall pipe when you are ready to partake in some herbal goodness.
Let’s be honest, smoking out of plastic can be a drag. Not only does plastic distort the flavor of your expensive herbal products, but it is substantially less healthy than glass. Fortunately, making a glass waterfall bong is also easy, so long as you have a few tools. The most crucial tool in question? A drill with a glass-safe drill bit. To drill through glass, you will need a ceramic, diamond-tipped drill bit of your desired size. These drill bits can be found easily a hardware store or online.
The process of making a glass waterfall bong is exactly like making a plastic one. The only difference is that instead of using scissors or a knife to cut a carb into the plastic, you use a glass-safe drill bit to drill a hole into your desired glass bottle. Before drilling, place a piece of blue painters tape on the drill site to help the drill bit get a solid grip. For safety, all glass drilling should be done outside. Once your carb hole is drilled into the glass bottle, you can make a waterfall bong bowl using any of the methods mentioned above.
