Why eat wedding cake when you can smoke it?
Weed weddings are all the rage right now, and we completely understand why; they’re dope. In a new viral video, a groom was seen smoking a celebratory blunt with his lovely bride, but the internet came back with some mixed reviews.
Orunmila “JC” Cartier published the video to Twitter on Nov. 10 under his handle @IAM1440. Since he posted it, the video has gained 3.2 million views, roughly 50,000 retweets, and 156,000 likes. The clip shows Orunmila and his bride, Sasha Cartier, celebrating their first sesh as husband and wife.
Orunmila lights the blunt while soulful and heartwarming music plays in the background. As he blows the smoke into Sasha’s mouth ever-so-sensually, she later takes her toke in a black and white shot while blowing the smoke towards her new hubby.
The video was cleverly captioned, “Some people eat wedding cake, we smoke it!” Wedding cake is truly a delicacy, and we’re talking about the strain, of course. Many were happy to share their appreciation for the weed-focussed wedding post. One user, @einfrared, wrote, “I want what they got,” us too.
However, as per almost any viral video that makes its way around the internet, there were some haters too. Another user, @Shawnmyrelle, said it was “a clear indicator of how far we’ve fallen as a society. Nothing is sacred anymore.” We don’t want to be haters ourselves, but this comment alone is a “clear indicator” of ignorance in society.

We’d hope that in 2021, communities would be open to encouraging individuals to use cannabis if that’s what they desire. In fact, many former alcohol users are now proud cannabis enthusiasts after experiencing the many benefits and pros of cannabis over booze.
Orunmila told Newsweek that he and Sasha don’t eat sweets, but they “love the strain of wedding cake,” so Sasha came up with the idea to light the cake in a different way. Orunmila and Sasha smoked the celebratory blunt following the ceremony and before the reception, adding that it had a “pretty good taste” and was “smooth and soothing.”
Orunmila concluded that this unconventional celebration was something they wanted to do for memories since it was so unique to them. What’s even sweeter than the strain is that Orunmila’s wife Sasha doesn’t smoke, but he added that “she did this for me, she’s that kind of lady, and our love is that selfless.” Can someone say goals?
