Ever wondered how pills dissolve in the stomach? Look no further. Created with Cannabis Life.
A fascinating video was posted to YouTube by Macro Room, and the title is somewhat self-explanatory. “Pills Dissolve” by Macro Room gave us an up-close and personal look at how different types of pills look like as they dissolve.
What could be seen as useless information to some is actually satisfying that brain itch for others who enjoy visually-appealing slow-motion videos.
Whatever the visual equivalent to ASMR is, this video is oddly satisfying, and we hope our fellow cannabis lovers will spark up before witnessing the process of dissolving different kinds of pills to get the complete “wow” experience.
First up was your regular Advil soft gel capsules that were gently placed into a container with water. Under the macro lens, viewers can see the Advil logo on the pill slowly dissipate along with the exterior of the gel capsule. From a zoomed up birds-eye-view perspective, the pill leaks its gel-like innards from both sides in this weirdly artistic and abstract way.
This video sparked some curiosity on our end, and we wanted to look at how an Advil soft gel dissolves compared to our favorite Delta 8 Soft Gels by Cannabis Life.
The ingredients used in Cannabis Life’s Delta 8 Soft Gels are hemp-derived Delta 8 THC extract, gelatin, purified water, medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), and glycerin.
Circling back to Advil, its ingredients inside soft gels include a whole list of hard-to-pronounce components, including acetylated monoglycerides, croscarmellose sodium, methylparaben, microcrystalline cellulose, and much more.
With this in mind, we expected a slight difference in how they would look when dissolving.
Our guesses were correct. Although we didn’t have a macro lens on hand like what was used in Macro Room’s “Pills Dissolve” YouTube video, there were still noticeable differences between the two pills.
It was much quicker for the Delta-8 soft gels to dissolve than Advil’s soft gels.

That said, Advil’s soft gels emitted much more product, mostly because the pill is slightly larger than the Delta-8 soft gel.
Both pills and the liquid inside dispersed around the same amount, indicating that both capsules are fast-acting and can disperse throughout the body in a matter of minutes.
An honorable mention in Macro Room’s Youtube video is the chalk-like pills and how they dissolve.
What impressed us was the bubbling effect and how the pill transformed into some type of sea moss-looking visual.
Although we didn’t have a chalk-like cannabis pill on hand, we can only guess that the outcome would be relatively similar.
