Rodgers attributes ayahuasca to helping him achieve the NFL MVP title for two seasons in a row.
In the wide world of plant medicine, one substance is on Aaron Rodgers‘s lips; ayahuasca.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback recently opened up about his relationship with the plant and how it helped him achieve his recent success.
Rodgers was named NFL MVP in the last two seasons. During The Aubrey Marcus Podcast, Rogers opened up about how ayahuasca led him to greatness.
First, he explained the negative perception of the plant and its many rumors. “The fear around it is, you’re going to shit yourself; it’s just a big throw-up fest.”
He explained how those negative experiences are often what people use to describe the ayahuasca experience, “not the deep and meaningful and crazy mind-expanding possibilities, and also deep self-love and healing that can happen on the other side.”
Since his first time experiencing the plant’s positive impact on his mental health, “I came back and knew that I was never gonna be the same,” Rodgers asserted.
Funny enough, the Green Bay quarterback started reaping the rewards of his career just after he traveled to South America to experiment with psychedelics. If it weren’t for ayahuasca, Rodgers might not have had the mental capacity and motivation to play at the best of his abilities.
It helped him “be way more free at work, as a leader, as a teammate, as a friend, as a lover,” he explained. “I really feel like that experience paved the way for me to have the best season of my career.”
If you’re wondering what kind of ayahuasca experience led Rodgers to such success, he described it.
“I had a magical experience with the sensation of feeling a hundred different hands on my body imparting a blessing of love and forgiveness for myself and gratitude for this life from what seemed to be my ancestors,” citing his first time trying the plant.
It’s stories like these that make trying psychedelics a little less intimidating.
Rodgers is just one of the many celebrities who recognize the healing capabilities of plant medicine and psychedelics, especially ayahuasca. He firmly believes that the plant is what helped him play the best two seasons of his NFL career.
