Rappers that smoke weed often smoke their own grow. See what your favorite rappers are smoking.
One of my favorite things about weed is easily accessing strains smoked by celebrities. If you wanted to try chef Gordon Ramsay’s favorite meal, or wine sommelier Michael Broadbent’s favorite red wine, you might be looking at a few hundred dollars each.
But what if you wanted to try Snoop Dogg or Wiz Khalifa’s favorite weed strain? Chances are, you can find it at your local dispensary or maybe the higher-end one down the road.
Not only are these strains affordable, but they’re cherished by rap royalty.

When we talk about Method Man, we are talking about a hip-hop legend who has left his mark on not only music but also cannabis culture.
With his TICAL brand, Method Man is not just another rapper joining the cannabis craze. This Wu-Tang Clan pioneer has taken his passion for good smoke to another level, creating a clean, potent cannabis experience with a social twist and, of course, with products that exceed expectations.
In fact, Method Man routinely uses his brand’s own strain, Ex-Girlfriend, as a testament to its quality and potency.
If there’s one person on this planet who could smoke more weed than Snoop Dogg, it’s Wiz Khalifa. Wiz has largely made a career out of rapping about weed.
Even Wiz’s major controversies revolve around his love for weed. In fact, nearly 70% of all Wiz Khalifa songs are about weed, according to a report. It’s hardly surprising then that Wiz’s favorite weed strain is named after himself: Khalifa Kush.
It was a well-guarded secret for years until he finally started selling it to the public. Now everyone has a chance to smoke what Wiz smokes.
It’s hard to name just one favorite strain of Snoop Dogg’s. Depending on who you ask, Snoop’s favorite strains will vary. Some include:
Then again, you could always just smoke Snoop Dogg OG, the weed strain named after the rap legend. In all honesty, any of the strains mentioned above will do—it’s hard to imagine a connoisseur of Snoop’s stature sticks to just one favorite.
B Real is a legend. He and the Cypress Hill gang have been rapping about weed since before I was born. In 2020, B Real told HipHop Lately that his favorite strains vary, but here are his top picks:
Similar to Snoop, it’s hard to believe that B Real sticks to one strain. Pick up any of the five strains above, and get ready to feel “Insane In The Brain.”
When it comes to Quavo’s favorite strains, no one was really sure what this famed rapper was smoking until he entered the legal weed game with a luxury strain dubbed Birkinz.
Quavo has mentioned cannabis in various tracks, be it solo tunes or hits from the Migos (RIP Takeoff). That said, in 2021, the rapper broke up with his ex-girlfriend and hip-hop artist Saweetie, who might have inspired the idea behind the strain.
Quavo launched the Birkinz strain shortly after, all because “We got tired of buying the girls Birkins, so we started smoking it, that’s all,” he says.
You might remember when GQ Magazine invited 2 Chainz to smoke $500,000 worth of bongs and weed. Talking about the hash oil and dabs, he says, “I’m tellin’ you, man, this shit makes it feel like your heart is about to explode.”
In 2018, 2 Chainz entered the legal cannabis market and launched his weed brand, Gas Cannabis Co. Although it’s unclear what this rapper weed strain favorite is, we’re sure he’s puffing on the brand’s strongest strain of them all, Octane 93.
The brand’s website notes a quote from the man himself: “Ninety-three octane got me gassed up.”
Weed saved Q’s life. So naturally, he spent the rest of his life honoring it. As he says in one interview, weed stops him from getting into trouble and helps him be a better father.
To accomplish this, Q’s favorite strain is reportedly Soul Assassin OG. This strain is a hybrid originally concocted by the Soul Assassins Crew, an affiliate of Cypress Hill.
This bud will leave you happy, relaxed, and, according to one reviewer, “Very Horny.”
Bronson smokes his weed a little differently than the other rappers. His favorite thing to smoke, according to an interview on the FRANK show, is Hardcore OG Shatter, made by West Coast Cure and smoked as a dab.
For anyone that enjoys a slightly unconventional, powerful dab hit, Bronson recommends Hardcore OG Shatter. This concentrate is available throughout California and, now, probably other states where cannabis is recreationally legal.
AS a producer, Alchemist has worked with Prodigy, Curren$y, Odd Future’s Domo Genesis, and much more. He’s also Eminem’s official DJ.
Just like Snoop, Alchemist likes to smoke Girl Scout Cookies. A multiple Cannabis Cup winner, Girl Scout Cookies is undoubtedly a popular and critically acclaimed strain.
Smoke this strain if you’re looking to feel happy or euphoric. It’s a hybrid that won’t leave you too tired and provides a nice cerebral, psychoactive high.
Known by most for his work in the rap group Run The Jewels, Killer Mike is a rappers’ rapper. In “Hood Politics,” Kendrick Lamar raps, “Critics want to mention that they missed when hip-hop was rappin’ Motherfucker, if you did, then Killer Mike’d be platinum.”
A few years ago, Mike showed off his immense political knowledge in an interview with Bernie Sanders. If you want to smoke like Mike, the strain of choice will depend on which country you’re in.
In an interview with Blare Magazine, Mike says that when he’s in Canada, he smokes Jack Herer. Back home in the States, though, he likes to smoke Diesel (likely referring to Sour Diesel.)
