WebJoint x Cova Collaboration To Bring Cannabis Delivery To Over 2K Dispensaries In North America

Although dispensaries are back up and running for in-person purchases, there's still vast demand for cannabis delivery.

Plenty of cannabis retailers in the United States and Canada were left scrambling when the pandemic stuck, looking for ways to continue selling products when demand for the plant skyrocketed amid the stay-at-home era.

And although most retailers and dispensaries are finally back open for in-person shopping, there’s still much demand for cannabis delivery, especially for those with underlying health conditions and still worried about contracting the novel coronavirus as the Omicron BA.2 variant continues running rampant.

Yesterday, Forbes reported that California-based all-in-one delivery software provider WebJoint just partnered with award-winning point-of-sale and inventory management platform Cova.

Cova’s platform is currently employed by over 2,000 cannabis retailers in North America, and through the new partnership, WebJoint will lend its broad cannabis delivery software to Cova’s network of dispensaries that choose to adopt delivery into their services.

In layman’s terms, cannabis delivery is about to pop up left and right throughout Canada and the United States.

WebJoint’s Head of Marketing, Antonio Javiniar, told Forbes that “The COVID-19 pandemic completely transformed the retail landscape of the cannabis industry,” adding that there was “very little” consideration by storefront dispensaries to adopt delivery before the pandemic.

Javiniar elaborated on how once COVID-19 swept the globe; dispensaries were in a position “in which they needed to get cannabis delivered to large groups of immunocompromised people who could not risk walking into a physical location.”

Today, immunocompromised individuals might still want to opt for home delivery as we continue navigating the dangers of the new Omicron BA.2 variant. Under the new WebJoint x Cova partnership, people who wish to isolate can now access delivery through Cova’s network of retailers.

And of course, you don’t need to be immunocompromised to choose delivery. CEO of Cova, Gary Cohen, also told Forbes that “Helping our customers adapt to this delivery-first world to stay competitive while delivering an incredible user experience that simplifies operations and compliance is a huge victory for the quickly evolving retail landscape.”

Cohen concluded that the new collaboration between Cova and WebJoint “is another step in the right direction for cannabis technology.”
