Prepare for a true celebration of the culture at Antidote in West Hollywood.
After a long and tiresome pandemic, which we’re still trying to manage, West Hollywood’s cannabis bars and consumption lounges are ready to reopen.
But there’s one consumption lounge that’s planning to leave the others in its dust, and Los Angeles Eater reports that the prospective lounge will sit in a historic building down the street from the renowned Troubadour music venue.
The new consumption lounge will be named Antidote, and owners say that the 99-year-old building that will soon hold the new consumption lounge is currently being remodeled. Reports say the construction phase should begin in late 2022.
What was once supposed to be only an edibles-only consumption lounge had to undergo some changes due to the current laws in West Hollywood. These regulations have been updated because of the difficulty of navigating a consumer’s tolerance and appropriate dosing levels through edibles. The law now enforces edible consumption lounges to have a separate area for non-consumption.
Co-owner of Antidote Kirk Cartozian is no stranger to business in Los Angeles. Per Los Angeles Eater, he also co-owns a few Gaucho Grill locations with Adrian Amosa and Antidote partners like Edgar Khalatian and Richard Lichtenstein.

Now let’s get to the goods. After construction and all other necessities are finished, Antidote will feature a two-level lounge holding a huge 6,000 square foot cannabis-free restaurant, a consumption lounge where on-site smoking is permitted, and private rooms that will be rented out for parties.
The consumption lounge where smoking is permitted is roughly 1,500 square feet, and Los Angeles Eater reports the space will also have a rooftop drinking area called Pure Bar and sell retail items in the consumption lounge.
Pure Bar will not allow smoking in the area, but it will offer water-soluble dehydrated cannabis powder in mocktails to keep the marijuana spirit alive.
Some private dining rooms have stunning views of the city, and Antidote hopes that it can provide consumers with the complete cannabis experience through dinners, beverages, on-site consumption, and retail, a true celebration of the culture.
