Meet ‘Farmer and The Felon,’ A Cannabis Brand Preserving The Cannabis Counterculture

Two innovative industry veterans, one farmer, and one felon teamed up to raise awareness for cannabis prisoners while maintaining the essence of the counterculture.

As many of us know, there are still 40,000 individuals in prison for non-violent cannabis crimes, sitting behind bars for activities that are legal today. One of those prisoners was an innovative cultivator and lifelong cannabis advocate, Dennis Hunter.

After turning his high school hobby of cannabis cultivation into a full-blown career with large-scale operations, he attracted some unwanted attention from law enforcement and served 6.5 years in prison. After his sentence, Hunter was even more dedicated to his cannabis crafts and decided to launch Left Coast Cannabis Wholesale, which sells equipment and nutrients for grow operations.

His most dedicated client was none other than skilled cultivator Ned Fussell, who created one of California’s most sophisticated and largest cultivation networks. Together, the two brought Farmer and the Felon Cannabis Company to life. The two also co-founded CannaCraft, a company that also sells cannabis products and houses several brands like Farmer and the Felon.

Under the brand, Hunter and Fussell now provide a platform for cultivators, activists, and ex-prisoners to shed light on the importance of inclusion in cannabis while maintaining that distinct counterculture we’ve created, even as normalization and legalization rollout.

But, Farmer and the Felon attest that cannabis will only triumph “when the last prisoners of the war on cannabis go free,” notes its website. The company has partnered with the Last Prisoner Project to take that notion even further and encourage consumers to donate to the nonprofit organization freeing cannabis prisoners left and right.

Because both Hunter and Fussell have such extensive and knowledgeable experience within the cannabis industry, you can trust its products will meet your standards and most likely surpass them. At Farmer and the Felon, you can grab all sorts of cannabis flower that were each carefully curated to deliver a distinct and authentic final product.

Instead of selling flower by the strain, the company offers different sizes like Eighth, Quarter, Smalls, and Pre-Rolls, where the consumer chooses which strain they want to purchase (out of the ones offered).

For example, in Farmer and the Felon’s Eighth, you can choose from a variety of strains like Squirt, Vanilla Frosting, Lemongrass, Orange Creamsicle, and Legend OG.

The company also has an Unlocked line of flower, which encourages you to “Unlock the value of California sun-grown cannabis. No gimmicks, just good, solid, sun-grown weed.” For more information on Farmer and the Felon and partners like the Last Prisoner Project, visit its website here.
