This gives a whole new meaning to the idea of a Happy Meal. This mother says she found ground-up cannabis in her 4-year-old daughter’s french fries that were purchased from a local Wendy’s.
Dezeray Risner, of Springfield, Ohio, was looking for a quick meal option after picking her 4-year-old daughter up from daycare. The family stopped at the local Wendy’s in Huber Heights and ordered their food to go.
After a few moments, her young daughter began complaining that the fries were “yucky,” refused to eat them and spit out the mouthful she had into her mom’s hand. Risner inspected the fries and was horrified by what she found. Immediately, Risner saw the fries were coated in what looked like cannabis particles.
After notifying the restaurant and filing a report with the local police department, Risner took to social media, uploading images of the tainted fries with a strong message to spread the word of the careless franchise.
After learning of the terrible mistake, Wendy’s quickly released a statement, in some sort of attempt at quieting the situation.
Please know all of our customers as well as the quality and integrity of our food are a top priority at Wendy’s and we are taking this very seriously. We are currently conducting a thorough internal investigation and the Human Resource and Legal departments are both fully cooperating with police in their investigation. We will get to the bottom of this issue as soon as possible. It is as important to us as it is to the community.
