Kevin Smith Jokes He Raised His Daughter “Right” After Seeing Her At A Dispensary

American comedian and filmmaker Kevin Smith joked on Instagram that he raised his daughter “right” after bumping into her at a local cannabis dispensary.

Smith, 51, was happy to run into his daughter and 22-year-old actress Harley Quinn Smith when purchasing cannabis at an unknown dispensary. Smith posted a photo to Instagram that showed the father-daughter pair smiling under their black face masks at the dispensary they hit up yesterday.

On the social media platform, Smith wrote a caption that joked, “When you’re at the weed store and run into your kid.” He also explained that since Harley Quinn has her own house, there have been moments where he ran into “the kid by chance out in public.”

He concluded the caption by writing about how he was happy to run into his “only begotten daughter” at a dispensary yesterday, nothing that “Someone raised that kid right.”

On Harley Quinn’s Instagram, she wrote that “It was a surprise but also not a surprise at all,” seeing as the two are proud cannabis enthusiasts who need to re-up from time to time. Smith and his daughter have a very close relationship. On Smith’s 51st birthday on August 2, Harley Quinn posted a message that said she was “so thankful for every birthday of yours.”

In more recent news, the father-daughter pair said they are in the process of co-writing a new series together. In June, Harley Quinn told E! News that it’s such a “cool gift” to be working with somebody she’s related to, let alone her father.

She added that the two have very similar minds, so it’s “kind of like you’re shooting with another version of yourself.” Smith backed that statement by explaining to E! News that writing with his daughter has been this “incredible different experience” and one that he “absolutely adores” because it’s like getting to play all over again.
