Not only are these products dangerous, but Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz do not endorse them.
Purchasing a safe product that’s backed by a known celebrity is intriguing.
But what happens when these products aren’t safe, and these celebrities say they’d never endorse them without proper research?
On The Dr. Phil Show, he teamed up with Dr. Oz to express their concerns regarding CBD scams and false advertising.
Both Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz‘s names and likeness have been used for advertising different CBD products. Most notably, from a company known as Verified CBD.
“Any marketing using my name or image is 100% dishonest because I have never endorsed CBD products,” said Dr. Phil.
When inviting Dr. Oz onto the show, he said, “they steal the money of our viewers,” but more importantly, “they steal their health.”
Instead of being upset over companies using their name and likeness for advertising, both Phil and Mehmet are worried that consumers are putting their health at stake when purchasing these dangerous CBD products.
Both doctors met up with Dr. Salimpour Pedram at a Los Angeles laboratory that tests cannabis-based products. This particular lab was testing Verified CBD‘s products and detected some jaw-dropping results.
The laboratory tested for;
Dr. Pedram explained that most unregulated products fail lab tests due to dangerous levels of heavy metals.
He reminded viewers that the hemp plant is a bioaccumulator, meaning it sucks up anything that’s in the soil. This includes heavy metals and pesticides.
However, if the product is regulated, all dangerous contaminants will be removed before the product meets third-party labs.
After testing Verified CBD products, Dr. Pedram said, they “failed because it is not safe for human consumption under any circumstances.”
Why? The product tested positive for lead “15 times higher than safe levels and 500 times higher than our level of detection,” said Dr. Pedram.

According to The Dr. Oz Show’s website, Verified CBD released a statement following the findings.
Michael Jones, Verified CBD Customer Support Manager, explained that Verified CBD‘s website “is not owned, managed, operated, or in any way controlled by our company.”
After investigating the website, he found that it “belongs to an affiliate who was part of our affiliate program. Such advertising is clearly a violation of our affiliate program’s terms and conditions.”
In terms of the dangerous levels of lead found in the company’s products, Jones said Verified CBD takes product quality “very seriously.” It also tests all products using independent third-party labs.
The statement did not mention anything else regarding the company’s high levels of lead in its products.
We always encourage cannabis users to research and understand the company they’re purchasing from.
For your own health and safety, please ensure that all products are tested through third-party labs and come with a lab report that details the levels of any unwanted contaminants.
So, if you hear any talk on Dr. Oz CBD gummies or Dr. Phil CBD gummies, be skeptical—neither of the talk show hosts actually endorses such items.
In general, the two talk show hosts do not endorse cannabis products.
And this reminds us that it’s always good to double-check product claims, especially with anything cannabis-related, since there’s a lot of misleading info out there.
