Tim Burton’s successful career has left us with gems like The Nightmare Before Christmas. It was released in 1993 but has aged like wine, making it one of the best holiday animated movies of all time.
Jack is the king of Halloween, but he is tired of celebrating the same day every year. After rumbling for a little while, Jack finds a door that leads to Christmas town. After seeing how different that world was, he decided to bring Christmas to Halloween Town. Jack and the citizens of Halloween Town have many problems, and after solving a lot of issues, Jack needs to save Christmas.
The beauty of the movie is that it was filmed in stop motion. As a result of this technique, you end up watching a movie with weird movements, a lot of textures, and some trippy scenes that will blow your mind. Maybe you watched this movie when you were little, but now that you’ve grown up, it’s time to watch it with some weed, food, and in a comfy bed or sofa.
Some movies are made for the sole purpose of entertainment. Some others leave a strong message that may change the way you look at things. A Christmas Carol is a perfect example of a movie that, just by the visuals, is going to surprise you but also help you appreciate the things you have.
Released in 2009, A Christmas Carol presents the life of Scrooge and how he gets the visit of three ghosts who are going to take him on a trip to the past, present, and future. This is a perfect movie to while stoned—tense moments, funny interactions, and excellent animation. As a curious fact, Jim Carrey gives voice to Scrooge, the main character.
Home Alone is a holiday classic that we’ve all seen at least once, but have you watched it stoned?
An 8-year-old kid is somehow forgotten at home while his family’s on vacation. And, of course, he gives some thieves a run for their money as they try to enter his house. He is alone and scared, but his cunning little mind will not let these two strangers get inside at all costs.
This movie was first released in 1990 and is now considered a holiday classic. There are a few sequels, but the first one is arguably the best one. If you haven’t seen it in a while, or you’ve never seen it before, do yourself a favor, light up a big joint, and enjoy a good movie night with this classic comedy.
Animated movies are in constant evolution. Year after year, animators improve their techniques and their equipment to bring us the best quality. Luckily for us, watching a good animated movie while high is one of the most satisfying things a stoner can do. Klaus is the perfect choice for a moment like that.
This Oscar-nominated movie, released in 2019, shows an alternate perspective of the Santa Claus legend. Jasper is a mailman who got the worst position in the Postal Academy. They sent him to an inhospitable place, where he met Klaus, the carpenter. Klaus and Jasper become good friends, and together they want to bring joy back to the area.
Klaus, directed by the Spanish Sergio Pablos and only available on Netflix, has been one of the most influential animated films in recent years. Not only because it’s a perfect picture but for showing a different story about Christmas. People were a little tired of the same old Santa story again and again, but Klaus is something different.

National Lampoon’s Vacation movies are classics, but the Christmas edition may be the best of the saga. Released in 1989, it is the third of six movies of the same name, National Lampoon’s Vacation. With a tone similar to Home Alone, this comedy is all about some misfortunes and the Christmas spirit.
Clark Griswold is a Christmas enthusiast. His only purpose is to give his family an amazing Christmas with a big party. Unfortunately for Clark, luck is not on his side. After a lot of disasters, what was supposed to be a perfect family vacation ended up in total chaos.
Like many other comedies, they are better to watch while high; you enjoy the jokes more, and many details just make sense. Don’t you dare leave this movie out of your holiday stoner movies? Make yourself a hot chocolate and enjoy a Christmas classic.
Jim Carrey may be one of the best comedians of our time. All his movies show what an amazing actor he is, and The Grinch is no exception.
The story of a lonely creature guy with a heart that’s two sizes too small never fails to pull on your heartstrings and give you a good old Jim Carrey laugh. This movie is hilarious. Knowing that Jim Carrey stayed in character for hours with the special effects makeup makes the movie all the more interesting.
But seriously, the story of naive little Cindy Lou Who wants to give the Grinch a real Christmas is pretty wholesome. It’s the Grinch’s odd ways that will have you giggling.
2000s comedies are not for everyone. For many people, they are just stupid movies that are an insult to the industry. For many others, these movies are everything. Bad Santa is the perfect movie when you’re in need of a laugh, and just that.
Willie and his friend Marcus are going to have their yearly Christmas tradition. They dress as Santa, disable the security alarm of a mall, and steal everything they can at night. Unfortunately, this year there is a security chief that will make their tradition impossible.
Grab yourself a big fat blunt, pizza, and cozy blankets, and enjoy a classic comedy that will bust your gut. Perfect for a comfy night by yourself or with friends.
Not all Christmas movies are comedies. One of the most classic Hollywood action movies happens during Christmas. Die Hard tells us the story of John McClane, a New York police officer who visits LA for Christmas. During his visit, he gets involved in a fight with a group of criminals that took his wife hostage.
Explosions, guns, and Bruce Willis during Christmas. There is no better combo than that for an action movie. Take a few bong hits or whatever you have, and feast your eyes on this action-packed classic. With four Oscar nominations, Die Hard’s Hollywood action is a masterwork of Hollywood action.
We’ve put another Tim Burton movie on this list, but this one may be a little bit weird. For many, the movie that boosted Johnny Depp’s career Edward Scissorhands is a comedy, romance, or drama film that tells the story of a fantastic man. After the death of his creator, he is left alone until Peg brings him home with her and introduces him to the real world.
He has to adapt to a new life, and thanks to the blades he has for his hands, he becomes a talented individual by cutting hair and perfecting gardening. The plot occurs during Christmas after some inside problems.
The movie is excellent, but the way Edward is dressed and the whole ambiance of the movie may be a little trippy if you want to watch it high. If you don’t mind that, settle in for a Tim Burton classic and a flawless performance from Johnny Depp.
Will Ferrel never disappoints. One of America’s best comedians gives life to Buddy, a regular man who was adopted by Santa’s elves. After growing up as an oversized elf, Santa gives permission for Buddy to travel to New York and find his biological father. Now he has to choose between his life as an elf and starting a life with his old-new family.
Another Christmas classic that everyone should watch at least once. If you haven’t watched this movie in a while, add it to the list. When you’re willing to watch it, be sure you have some weed nearby because this movie, while high, is just a different experience. Especially those creepy little elves.
