Meet the new concentrate that is taking over the cannabis world with its superior flavors and potency. Created with Stiiizy.
Consuming cannabis is like going to the gym; it’s all about maximizing gains.
Or at least that’s the way I choose to look at it. Not only because it makes me feel better when I decide to take a day off from the gym, but because it’s technically true.
As a toker, you’re always looking for a product that can provide the most natural experience, the most potent experience, the most pleasant experience, etc.
Live resin promises to do all of that.

Live resin sauce is a type of extract made from fresh frozen plant material that has not been dried and cured. The flower buds are harvested and taken immediately into a cryogenic process that puts the plant under freezing temperatures.
This preserves the flower’s natural chemical balance and results in a high-end cannabis extract like none other.
So, if cannabis concentrates were a thing before live resin even popped up on the radar, where did the need for live resin come from?
The thing is, concentrates, and flower, in general, are a finished good that comes after the flower has been put through a drying and curing process. This makes the plant smokable and activates certain cannabinoids you want to find in your concentrates or flower.
Curating done right is a key step towards a top-notch plant.
However:
To make concentrates, manufacturers have to use solvents to remove the desired substances from the flower, stems, and leaves. This leaves a sappy substance that is then submitted to evaporation in order to get rid of the solvents used.

That step of the process is fairly similar to the way live resin sauce is created.
The only step that differs significantly from other concentrates is the fact that flower is not submitted to the curating process. After harvest, the flower is collected and immediately flash frozen.
This preserves the product and the cannabinoids that will come to fruition in the final concoction.
Companies like Stiiizy have really taken the process to another level and curated Live Resin that truly captures the essence of the plant in extract form.
They start by cutting the whole plant when harvested and then immediately flash freezing it to preserve the full spectrum of cannabinoids and flavor. This process delivers the pinnacle of potency, flavor, and consistency when it comes to concentrates in general.
Stiiizy also makes a hand-crafted solventless line of extracts. It starts with premium flowers, then combining ice, water, and flower and gently agitating it they are able to separate the ripe trichomes.
Once separated, the delicate trichomes are immediately frozen and dried right after. Then they sieve and sift, keeping everything cold throughout the process to ensure maximum quality and taste and ultimately ending in a delicious Live Rosin Badder.
But Stiiizy doesn’t stop there. Along with their badder and live resin, you’ll also find Live Resin Diamonds and Rosin Jam made using the exact same methods. Or at least the same principles of the flash freezing extraction method.
The goal is to crystallize major cannabinoids and separate them from the rest of the extract mix.
All of Stiizy’s liquid live resin is crafted from premium fresh frozen flower, preserving the unique cannabinoid and terpene profiles of the living cultivar. This ensures that they provide the maximum aroma, potency, and flavor.
Stiiizy’s oil is never separated or reconstituted. This means there are no fillers, no cuts, no added terpenes, or non-cannabis ingredients. This includes no additive distillate or THC boosters. It’s flower and nothing else.
This makes for a truly naturally extracted product that gives you the full benefits from the integrally preserved original strain.

However, sauce can be made using fresh, flash-frozen flower or cured plant material. This only makes Stiiizy’s product all that more unique because cured flower will lack the same natural sturdiness of sauce made using fresh frozen flower.
With other concentrates, you may also harvest the extract from fresh cannabis. But this would also require using extremely low temperatures.
Because the whole flower is frozen when making live resin sauce, the solvent removal process takes much longer than other concentrates, from days to even a couple of weeks. In the live resin process, the solvent is left behind on purpose to help crystallize the major cannabinoids, letting the solvent evaporate slowly throughout various steps of the process.

This liquid live resin extraction process allows the preservation of the full spectrum of the compounds present in any given strain. All of the terpenes, cannabinoids, and flavonoids are perfectly preserved, delivering the effects that you’re after more specifically and more consistently.
When it comes to purity, convenience, and potency, you can’t really get much better than that.
Live resin can be consumed in one of two ways.
Resin can be found in various forms; shatter, budder, or sauce are the most popular formats. When we talk about live resin sauce, we are usually referring to liquid live resin.
Crystallized live resin is extremely potent and is made to be consumed with a dab rig or dab pen. The device will evaporate your crystallized live resin; this is known as vaporizing or dabbing.

On the other hand:
Live resin sauce can also be consumed using a dab rig, but you’ll easily find the product in pre-filled vape carts, disposable vape pens, or infused pre-rolls.
Live resin can also be added to a packed bong bowl if you’re feeling like your bong hit is not as strong as it could be.

When the plant is recently harvested it is at its fullest in terms of flavor, scents, and overall cannabinoid content. In order to make the flower consumable, growers will trim flowers during harvest and curate them.
The curing process implies drying the plant over a period of days, maybe weeks.
In the live resin process, the flower is flash frozen right after harvesting it. This way growers are able to preserve the components and chemical integrity of the plant. This process makes for a much bolder flavor because the terpenes that give the flower its flavor are preserved specifically to that end.

Live resin’s main characteristics include a bolder flavor and a more potent dabbing experience.
But the main difference between live resin and other concentrates is the flash-freezing process applied to the flower buds collected during harvest.
Aside from the production process and its potency, live resin is very similar to other concentrates in the way it is stored and used. Both products can be dabbed or vaporized.
Shatter is an alternative type of concentrate to live resin. It is characterized by its brittle consistency. Shatter uses solvent-based extract as a raw material that is then spread on a drying tray.
The dried material on the tray is then taken and broken up into little pieces. This process is what gives shatter its name.
Wax is a different type of concentrate found in one of two main consistencies – crumble or budder.
Like shatter, wax is made using solvent-based extraction after the flower has been dried and cured. After extraction, the resulting substance is agitated, causing the oil to crystallize and solidify. This is what gives wax its thick consistency.
Depending on how the process is done, the finished product can be crumble or budder. Crumble is a granular-looking wax, while budder is more gooey and viscous.
To give you a better idea, budder looks almost like solid ghee, while crumble looks like a crystallized version of that.
I know we’ve been talking about how live resin is so good because it is done before the curing process.
However:
There is also the option of curing the flower first and then flash freezing it. Hence the name cured live resin. But why do this?

It would seem like creating cured live resin forgoes the whole reason behind live resin. But it does have a reason.
When harvested flowers are curated and dried, the cannabinoids and other plant components go through a series of chemical changes. This changes cannabinoids and affects their potency or effects on the body.
The component composition of a harvested flower bud will change as more drying time elapses. Experienced growers can dry flower during a specific period of time to capture the cannabinoids and other compounds they need for their product and then flash freeze the plant material to preserve them.
Live rosin is a concentrate made with solventless extraction methods. Rosin has been acclaimed by the media and industry because it is the most natural way to consume concentrates.
After the flower has been harvested, dried, and cured, it is put under extreme pressure and heat. While the material is being squeezed, a sap-like substance will begin to ooze from it. This substance is called rosin.

Flash-frozen plant cannot be directly put under high temperatures and pressure because this would only begin to boil the water that comes with it and harm your finished product. After freezing the flower buds, they are submitted to an ice extraction process.
The ice extraction process is used to create full melt bubble hash, also known as ice wax, from freshly frozen flowers. The ice wax is then put under pressure and heat to extract the live rosin.
The finished good can still be called rosin because it is extracted using pressure and heat, but most importantly, without solvents.
Distillates are concentrates that only contain one component.
Growers use distillate processes to separate a specific cannabinoid or component from the rest of the mixture. Distillates can be used as finished goods or as raw materials to create other products. Distillates are most commonly found in tincture or vape juice formats.
If they ever found a way to isolate a single component in live resin, you could hypothetically end up with distillate live resin.
Live resin sauce is one of the most potent and holistically crafted concentrates you can vape. Because of the flash-freezing process used to make live resin, the optimal chemical structure of cannabinoids is captured and preserved for use in the final product.

Live resin is a cannabis concentrate that gets its name from the freshness of the cannabis plant it’s made from. Unlike other concentrates made from dried and cured plant material, live resins are immediately frozen after harvest, and by freezing the plant immediately after harvest, preserving the delicate terpene profiles responsible for the distinct aromas, flavors, and effects of each strain.
Think of it this way, live resin is like drinking the nectar from a flower. The freshness and purity that come with these products make them extremely potent compared to other concentrates you would find.
