You will either love this or fear this.
As we advance, so does technology, and the latest remarkable technological advancement is from Engineered Arts. The company recently went viral when sharing its latest humanoid robot, which will either creep you out, amaze you, or both.
What’s so intriguing about the humanoid robot is its detailed facial expressions, which are so smooth that it seems like something out of a realistic sci-fi film. Engineered Arts showcased the robot on YouTube, and it’s already generated significant attention.
In the video posted to YouTube, the humanoid robot named Ameca rolls its shoulder with its eyes closed, almost warming up for its grand awakening. Once someone snaps their fingers, our robot friend comes to life with an expressive look of surprise and shock.
Ameca has a furrowed brow, and the small wrinkles on its forehead are a little too realistic. What’s even eerier is how the robot blinks multiple times as if it’s taking in its surroundings; however, it actually doesn’t need to blink at all. It then observes its machine arm with a curious and intense stare.

The clip is very short, but it’s enough to give anyone a rush of excitement for the future of blatantly creep them out. The last scene is the real kicker; Ameca sends you off by staring into your soul, which might very well be nightmare fuel for some. However, we must say how impressive and flat-out surprising this advancement is.
Engineers in the past have done well creating advanced robots that imitate humans, but they’ve all seemed to look rather robotic and awkward, which makes Ameca a clear front runner. Its smooth facial expressions and detailed looks of worry or curiosity genuinely look like a human painted in silver. We completely understand why Engineered Arts dubs Ameca as “the world’s most advanced human-shaped robot.”

Apparently, the greatest challenge for Engineered Arts will be getting these robots to walk around and gain full mobility, but the company says they’re nowhere near that kind of advancement yet.
According to the Engineered Arts website, Ameca’s face is “housed on a human-like artificial body (AI x AB) that boasts a powerful Tritium robot operating system.” The company is hopeful that its design will lead the way of the future and represent “the forefront of human-robotics technology.”
Finally, they say Ameca was specifically designed as a platform for “development into future robotics technologies,” and the company has its focus set on bringing the public the most innovative, reliable, modular, and upgradeable technologies.
