There is a pizza joint in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, selling happiness to their customers in the form of a happy “herb” pizza. Most travelers probably expect to find something like this in a more marijuana friendly place, such as Amsterdam. But if you find yourself in Cambodia, you can have the pleasure of a happy pizza too!
People want to eat happy herb pizzas, but no one wants to spend life in prison in Cambodia. Or perhaps the worse fates that we see on the news. So what´s the deal then?
Well, marijuana is a semi-legal plant in Cambodia. What that means is that on the whole, it is llegal to use it publicly. There are however, some exceptions that apply only to local Cambodian people. These exceptions allow them to grow a few plants legally for cooking. The plant is often used in a cuisine called Khmer. Khmer cuisine always contains some freshly cooked herb.
Funnily enough, their website doesn´t specifically advertise the use of happy herbs on their pizzas, but they do call themselves the original happy herb pizzas in Cambodia.
Well, if you find yourself in Cambodia, you need only to go to Phnom Penh, which is in the South. You just have to waltz in and ask for a happy herb pizza. Be careful! These are said to be really strong, and although they kick in slowly, they kick in very hard! And careful how many more you eat while you sit there experiencing the munchies.
In fact, they even have another store in Siem Reap in Cambodia, so there is no lack of happy herb pizzas anywhere there apparently!
