Get Baked: The Vegan Stoner Recipe Book

Plant-based everything and easy to make, this cookbook is ready to help propel you into a plant-based lifestyle.

Cooking vegan doesn’t have to be difficult, and Sarah Conrique and Graham I. Haynes are here to prove it. It can be a little intimidating to make the switch to a plant-based lifestyle, especially if you’re not sure where to begin. In honor of World Vegan Day, we want to highlight two of the greatest niche cookbooks of all time

Straight from Simple Gestures Design Studio, Sarah Conrique and Graham I. Haynes are a creative team that developed “The Vegan Stoner Blog” alongside design brands that reflect their diverse clientele. The West Coast stoner residents are excited to help you on your vegan journey with their illustration-focussed blogs, zines, websites, and books.

This was the first installment of Conrique and Haynes’ vegan cookbooks for stoners, and it’s been nothing but a helpful aid for directing meat-eaters onto a more organic, natural, and healthier way of eating.

This cookbook is a collection of vegan recipes that are incredibly simple; Conrique and Haynes wanted to create meals simple yet effective enough for the highest stoner to make from their own kitchen.

It also comes with many illustrations to make it more visually appealing and easier to follow along. Contrary to popular belief, the cookbook was created to remind readers that veganism can be fun, cheap, and accessible.

The many recipes are perfect for beginners and slackers who simply won’t be able to resist these filling and yummy meals made with a few ingredients and minimal time. These fan-favorite foolproof recipes include Mean Green Smoothies, Aspara-Guy Sushi, Bahnwiches, Animal Cookies, Churro Chips, and more.

In their second cookbook installment, Conrique and Haynes return with new vegan recipes for stoners. This time around, the authors decided to focus on whole foods, gluten-free, and soy-free options for their diverse readers.

Batches of foolproof vegan recipes are abundant in this cookbook; many highlight the glories of whole foods and fresh produce for the modern vegan to steer away from the pantry and into the farmer’s market. What’s more organic than that?

Another highly illustrated and eccentric cookbook straight from stoner Californian authors, their second installment of vegan recipes are easy, yummy, and perfect if you’re in a time crunch. The new book offers slightly more flexibility in terms of ingredients, and some favorites so far are the Butternut-chos, Jackfruit Toona Salad, and Shroom Paella.
