Coming to life in 2017, a religious group of Elevationists thought that because cannabis is finally starting to gain the recognition and positive reputation it deserves, it would only be right to create a safe space for connoisseurs and beginners to learn more about the cannabis experience.

Located in Denver, Colorado, the city was the home of the world’s first successful recreational cannabis bill, which helped Colorado legalize adult use in 2012. The Elevationists believe that cannabis is a core part of becoming the best version of yourself, so the Church wants to help you on your spiritual journey to wellness and self-discovery through rituals enhanced by cannabis.

The most beautiful part of it all is you don’t need to come from a certain culture or religious background to become an Elevationist, nor do you need to convert. The group simply invites all cannabis users to make good use of the plant on their personal journeys.

When walking into the International Church of Cannabis at 400 S Logan Street, the visuals are the first attention-grabbing characteristics with bright, bold, and vibrant colors that offer a semi-psychedelic take on traditional church designs.

If you want to stay entertained during your visit, buy tickets for the Church’s many comedy shows, laser light shows, and theater performances. You can also choose to have your weed wedding at the International Church of Cannabis, but consumption on the grounds is restricted unless you’re a member (and it’s really easy to become one).

The International Church of Cannabis Is Open Fridays-Mondays from 12:00 pm-8:00 pm, and Tuesdays-Thursdays from 4:00 pm-8:00 pm.
