All eyes on Blaise, a perfect example of Asbury Park, New Jersey’s diverse and inspired music scene.
The alt-pop artist recently signed with Shore Points Records (Sonic Blume, Polaroid Fade) and dropped an irresistibly catchy cover of Ace Of Base’s classic 90s anthem, “Don’t Turn Around.”
His unique approach to music includes striking visual and performance art to express and spread his message of the power of being undefined, fluid, and unapologetically yourself. So gather your friends, light up the best indica strains, crank this song up, and let loose.
We dare you to try not to dance.
Rising artist Kaye Fox receives praise for her emotionally charged single, “WWYD” (What Would You Do?).
This sophomore release sees Fox stepping into her own as a solo artist, drawing on her rich background as a seasoned background vocalist for big names like J. Cole and Nas. The article highlights the raw vulnerability in Fox’s voice as she navigates themes of love, trust, and heartbreak with a soul-stirring delivery.
“WWYD” is described as a powerful blend of R&B and soul that showcases Fox’s depth as a songwriter and her ability to connect with listeners on a deeply personal level.
Pair this perfectly with a euphoric strain.
Originally forged as a solo loop project from NYC scene mainstay Eli Frank (Teenage Halloween), Bummer Camp has grown through two EP releases into a dynamic 4-piece. Trash Casual (Tetchy, My Son The Doctor) will release their debut full-length, Stuck In A Dream, on February 14th.
The album is a testament to the evolution of the group’s sound, expanding from their lo-fi origins into the sonic vibrancy of the current fully-fledged live act.
We recommend pairing their crushing new single, “Pull the Thread,” with some Blue Dream. You’ll thank us later.
This one’s for all you OG indie/emo heads out there. Meet Baltimore, Maryland’s Underlined Passages.
Their new single, “Brkn,” is the first off their new Frank Marchand (Bob Mould, War on Drugs, The Thermals)-produced LP, Landfill Indie, and it’s certain to be a welcome addition to your new fall music playlists.
Singer/guitarist Michael Nestor says the album is a reaction to the fickle dismissiveness of modern indie rock critics and the relegation of contemporary alternative music to a million subcategories and enclaves; the band intentionally wrote the album to play like an eclectic late-90s mixtape to underscore the irony that the recent corporate digital fractionation of indie rock into a million clades is also currently basking in the glory of a late 90s/early ‘aughts revival.
This one definitely delivers. The band has shared stages with the likes of Explosions in the Sky, The Stills, Matt Pond PA, and Grandaddy. I mean, come on! Pair this with Sour Space Candy for a trip back to a better time.
