A Guide To Different Bong Materials

Which material makes a quality bong? Created with Chill Steel Pipes.

Are you beginning your venture into the world of the bongs?

There are several different factors to consider before purchasing a bong, but the most important one is by far the product’s material.

We’ve given you the complete rundown of our favorite to least favorite bong materials to help you better understand which material is ideal for your next bong.

Steel

Steel is incredibly durable and truly stands the test of time. If you need a bong that can withstand on-the-go sessions, this is the way to go. Besides, they’re not see-through, so you won’t have to worry about having it dirty (however, we do not recommend it).

And when it comes to steel bongs, your best bet for a quality sesh is a Chill Bong.

This bong, by Chill Steel Pipes, comes with an unbreakable aluminum down stem, making for a long-lasting and quality product.

Ceramic is certainly more robust than other materials. It can also be customized into different shapes and sizes, perfect for centerpiece displays.

Like glass, ceramic won’t alter the aroma of your smoke and it’s extremely easy to clean. However, it is also prone to breakage.

If you want the benefits of a ceramic bong but can’t afford a broken piece, then we highly recommend you go with a Chill Bong.

Despite being made of steel, their interior is coated with ceramic which offers extremely smooth hits and is just as easy to clean as any water bong.

Glass

Glass is the most common bong material today. This material is highly popular because of its clean hits, and the fact that you can visually see the smoke you are consuming.

Using a glass bong also makes it easier for the user to notice when their bong needs a cleaning rather than a non-transparent material.

The only downside of glass is how it easily adjusts to the outside temperature and changes the temperature inside, and of course, it’s easily breakable

GRAV's Graviton

When it comes to glass, there’s nothing like borosilicate used in unique pieces like the Graviton by GRAV, which also puts the laws of physics to work in our favor.

Made from the toughest 5mm borosilicate, this gravity bong takes your smoking experience where few bongs can.

The Gravitron® is the epitome of elegance and efficiency. Its chonky construction is a testament to quality, providing a tactile experience that screams durability. Forget complicated setups, this glass bong keeps things clean and classy. Plus, because of its sturdy design, forget about the fragility associated with glass.

The Graviton features a platinum-cured silicone grommet, ensuring a touch of sophistication and protecting those crucial points of contact with the glass.

This closed system design not only preserves your precious buds but also releases thick, milky puffs effortlessly. The secret? Let gravity do the heavy lifting while you enjoy an explosive experience.

Upgrade your smoking with GRAV’s Graviton, because who said science couldn’t be elegant and fun?

Silicone

Silicone bongs are pretty handy if you’re traveling or in a pinch. They’re widely popular because of their flexibility and how they can be folded and stored in a bag that’s roughly half the bong’s size.

Silicone bongs are pretty impossible to break as well, but they don’t often carry fancy features like percolators because it’s a soft and flimsy material.

Another downside of silicone bongs is that they’re not as visually appealing, so silicone may not satisfy those needs if you’re a bong user interested in aesthetics.

Acrylic

Acrylic bongs come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors. They are usually lightweight and fairly durable

Besides silicone, acrylic bongs are usually the cheapest options available. So if you’re looking to get a bang for your buck, look for an acrylic bong.

The downside of acrylic bongs is that they often interfere with the quality, flavor, and aroma of the strain being used.

Acrylic interacts with the vapor inside, resulting in poor flavor and taste.
