Field Trip: A Guide For Your Visit To Salem, Massachusetts

Experience the history, hauntings, and wickedly good cannabis in Salem, Massachusetts.

What comes to mind when you think of Salem, Massachusetts? The infamous Salem Witch Trials, of course.

Although these trials went down in 1692, the history of this emotional American event is as chilling as ever. Perhaps there’s no better time to visit Salem than throughout the month of October.

The city’s haunted legends and eerie events are perfect for a pre-Halloween spook. Even better, you can experience the beauty, history, and hauntings of Salem even more vividly now that recreational cannabis is legal in Massachusetts.

In this guide, we’ve given you a rundown on the best dispensary, sesh spots, food, and entertainment for your visit to Salem.

Before we begin, it’s wise to remember that consuming legally-purchased cannabis in public is illegal in Massachusetts, so it’s best to limit your consumption to your residence or a discreet and quiet place without anyone around, dead or alive.

Now that you’ve got your product, it’s time to use it. From edibles to flower and vaporizers, the best way to experience these products is in the great outdoors.

Lucky for you, Salem is packed with historical beauty, from the old towns to the coast. The only catch is that smoking weed in public in Massachusetts is frowned upon and considered illegal under state law.

So, you’ll have to keep your consumption as discreet as possible. We’d suggest a quiet beach where you can find your own corners, like Salem Willows Beach or Collins Cove Beach.

If you’re not up to hitting the coast, stay in the town and head over to Salem Common, an 8-acre public park that’s been a common area of townspeople since the 17th century.

Again, it is illegal to consume cannabis in public, especially at a public park. Consider sparking up beforehand or finding your own discreet area for a quick joint.

You’re on the east coast, so trying some delicious seafood during your time in Salem is essential. We suggest one of the most popular hubs for tasty and mouth-watering seafood eats, Finz Seafood & Grill.

The restaurant sits on the harbor, and if it’s not too chilly, we suggest grabbing a table outside for the immaculate views.

At Finz, you can find eats like Stoli/Caviar Oysters, seasonal Sugar Apple Sangrias, various Maki Rolls, a Seafood Bar, and comforting starters. Visit its website for more information or to make a reservation at hipfinz.com.
