Proto Pipe

The first Proto Pipe was created in 1970 after inventor and amateur machinist Phil Jergenson realized the overwhelming need for a truly reliable, and highly functional smoking device. Thus was born the Proto Pipe, an all-in-one “Swiss Army Knife” pipe made from solid brass that comes complete with all the accessories necessary to smoke, poke, snuff and store your bowls.  With the Proto Pipe in hand Phil made the move from Colorado to California to pursue a pipe dream, and the rest became history.  Now, 50 years later, that pipe dream is in full revival as the original Proto Pipe team continues to show why high quality American made products are a better choice than cheaply made disposable devices.  For a deeper dive into the Proto Pipe story, be sure to visit our website protopipellc.com and check out our About Us page.
